How to travel from Hoian to Nha Trang? Not a big deal to get there, come to Danang train station (has no station in Hoian town), look for an overnight train from Da Nang to Nha Trang. Vietnam Railways (dsvn.vn) has launched a new pairs of train NH1 & NH2 (Hue - Danang to Nha Trang and vice versa) on this summer in this crowded period of local travelers and school vacation in Vietnam, trains valid from 19/5/2017 to 04/9/2017.

To buy the ticket in advance, you can go directly to any train stations to get it, opening hours (07:00 am - 08:00pm) depending on each stations ie. Hanoi station opens from 06:30 am – 09:00 pm

If you have limited time and don't want to be in a line to buy ticket in the stations, you can buy it online with Vietnam Impressive, very simple easy, reasonable cost, staff are helpful and they can communicate in English, Spanish or French reply. They do not work in the weekend, so call them if need service urgently. Tel: +84-4 39747543.
From last January 2016, procedure of check-in to travel by train in Vietnam was much simple, can show picture of boarding pass or even show it from your tablet, all excepted at least having seat, coach number, name & passport number on it.

Western travellers are usually concerned about cleanliness on the train, even on tourist carriage, train in Vietnam's hygiene cannot be compared to European standard, can stand this then prepare your thing. Sometimes there are corkroaches on the hallway.
Train in Vietnam for departure from Hue, Danang to Nha Trang are available with Vietnam Railways - Reunification train or tourist train service that recovers sleeper coaches from VR: New Livitrans, Violette Express are same situation. Can not join a train ride for more than 10 hours from Danang to Nha Trang? Still have solution not going with train in Vietnam but by flight. Take flight to Saigon first then connect to Nha Trang. Several domestic airlines operate those route: Vietnamairlines, Jetstar Pacific or Vietjetair, they are all available.
